the first answer is correct, just put 82 as the country code

for example your friend's number is

010-1234-5678

then put 82, remove the first 0(zero) so become

82-10-1234-5678

If you're direct dialing from a landline phone in Canada or the USA, just pick up the phone and dial 011-82-10-XXXX-XXXX.  Drop the first "0" in the digits given to you.

If you're using a calling card, follow the instructions on the card.  When it prompts you to enter "country code and telephone number" dial 82-10-XXXX-XXXX.

If you plan to call frequently, tell your friend to go to www.skype.com and have him or her sign up for an account.  They'll have the option of buying a subscription (free unlimited calls to the USA or a list of other countries) for a nominal monthly fee.  The subscription also comes with a free local telephone number in their city of choice that automatically forwards to any phone number (including cell numbers for no extra fee) in Korea.  I use this so my friends in Houston can call me at no charge to themselves and it's only 7 cents a minute for me.

the country code is 82 so when you dial you will dial 011-82-10-XXXX-XXXX. You drop the first 0 in the 010. Hope this helps.
