  1. The water bottles from Kmart and Walmart come with

    a metal strap.

    It is inside the bottle.

If you already have the bottle cage try using two hose clamps.

  2. you should be able to get am assembly for that from any bike shop, or get one of those camel packs, and just wear your water on your back

  3. I was trying to find a good picture of the frame with the mounting screws, but couldn't find a decent one.  I'm including a source with some instructions on how to put one on.

Basically, on the part of the frame that your bike seat tube goes down into, as well as on the angled part of the frame where the pedals and front gears are, you should see some small allen head bolts.  Most newer bikes have two sets, on the two parts of the frame I mentioned.

For mountain bikes I would suggest some type of metal water bottle cage.  If you have an odd shaped water bottle you can adjust the cage by hand by bending it slightly.  Road bike enthusiasts will get into the ultra light 28 or so gram cages, trying to shave every gram off their total.

You can also get some other things to attach with those bolts like small hand pumps, tool kits, flat repair kits, and on and on.

  4. You can pick up a 'Hydration Pack' from your local Halfords, Bike Shop or Walking Shop. This will be far better than attatching a bottle carrier because you can hold more water etc.

Expect to pay between £25 and £70 the more they cost, the more water they hold. They are definately worth the money and can also be used to carry spare innertubes and repair kits aswell.
