ok so i wear glasses.ive been wearing glasses ever since i was 8 and im now 16. i realy dont like glasses because they are very annoying and i misplace them all the time. i dont know about contacts, but i have allergies and they seem annoying and uncomfortable. ive heard about lasik but its very expensive and they say it only lasts about 5 years. Latley i have been reasearching natural vision inmporvment and the bates method and everything in between. Many people might not believe in "natural vision improvement" , but i think that i might give it a shot, but im not sure....I ABSOLUTLY HATE GLASSES!! lol.....so does anybody have any tips or suggessions??

thank you.

  1. I just had it done on friday (2 days ago), i went back in for my day after exam about 18 hours after surgery, and my vision was already 20/15. I would definitely recommend it. I was very nervous at first, but it's been better than expected thus far. The only "complaint", is that my eyes were sore for about the first hour to 2 hours and it made it difficult for me to take a nap as they recommended. If i had to do it again, i would have taken some nyquil as soon as it was over so i would have slept.

Also, my mother, uncle, and at least 4 of my friends (that i know for sure) have had it done and none have had any problems. If you really research it, there has never been a documented case of anyone going blind in the USA from Lasik. Yes there have been people who have had their vision become worse or have had major complications, but many of these problems were when lasik was first approved in the US and there were many unqualified surgeons who were not screening or properly treating patients (you remember all the $399 an eye ads back in the day). Statistics show 92-98% of patients are happy with Lasik. Just make sure you go to a qualified surgeon. If you cant afford it ($2800- $4000) than stick with glasses, contact use actual has a much higher rate of eye infections and problems than LASIK

  2. Try the natural vision improvement. If it doesn't work at least you've cancelled out a option.

  3. contacts would probably be the safest answer..

  4. Donni is wrong, it is not new at all actually. Get your facts straight, but I do agree lazik is definitely bad. Check out the resources of my post for a free book center of old books about the Bates Method. Check it out, and no I am not trying to recieve the best answer.

The Bates Method has been around since I think 1919... That isn't "new". It has helped many.

  5. Well I would wait on Lasik Surgery. There have been some medical problems associated with them. I can not give you any specifics its just one of those things you read about once and don't pay a lot of attention to. Though I wear glasses also I was not planning on having the surgery. I did have a friend who had this surgery and was very satisified with the result. He was 56 or 57  years old when he had it done. Infection is always a possible problem with contacts you are correct on this one. I am sorry that I really do not have a great solution to your problem. I am not familiar with the program that you are refering to. By this I mean Natural Vision Improvement. I have heard of this sort of thing. I think you may be refering to eye exercise. It would not hurt to speak with an Opthomoligist about this or go on Web MD and ask your question there. For now all that I can suggest is try and find the most comfortable glasses that you can find and when you take them off try and remember to always put them in the same place when not wearing them and if not at home put them in a place where you have a similiar association with. Like always on a table. Good Luck   Bob

  6. This could be so dangerous! I have researched and listened to the latest about it on the news. A very high percent of people who have had this 'treatment' are now complaining of having their sight permanently ruined!

They are seeing lights, rainbows, some have blurry vision! They all deeply regret having Lasix, and although I was thinking about it. (I perform on stage with guitar, and wearing glasses is not an option) But, not now! No Way!

At least you can see with your glasses, be thankful for that. And as for your allergies, you need to put allergy drops into your eyes, unless you mean you have a different type of allergy.

This Natural Vision Improvement, Bates method, sounds too new to be trusted also. It is after a few years and then reading about the feedback that you will know whether to trust anything. But, do not risk your eyes!

Learn to be more tidy about where you leave your glasses, and have a pair in as many rooms as you can, if you have to keep taking them off. It will be worth it in the end!

Oh, the impatience of the young! But, do not let that be the reason for you ending up almost blind!
