  1. "Hey i have no degree or qualifications. what well paid job could i get?"

I have several formal degrees and have had a couple of different career paths & jobs.  I started working at a very young age.

I have more questions vs advice at this point?

Lets do a little inventory (some things you may or may not want to share in this forum):

    • What do you consider as “well paid”?

o I guess you want the car, house, vacation, entertain, family, etc…

o Do you have goals, both personal & objectives? (written down?)

o How much are you willing to invest (education, personal development, etc…) in yourself to get what you want?

    • Why would someone hire you? (this is something for you to consider, no need to directly answer)

    • How much working experience do you have?

    • How much school do you have? (for example: do you have a HS diploma/GED, are you still in school?)

    • How old are you?  (an exact age is not necessary, perhaps a range, for example: are you over or under 25 yrs.?)

    • What’s your financial situation?

    • What’s your family situation (married/single, children, etc…)

    • What do you have an interest in (are there things you have a talent for or good at)?

    • Are you willing to get further education (degree or vocational)?

    • Is the military completely out of the question? (no, I am not a recruiter, I did serve)

o There are a couple of branches

o There are hundreds of “jobs” (training)

    o You would get experience

o It would “jump start” your life.

  2. As of now, you can find low end jobs. Such as working as a mail clerk for a fortune 500, police officer, etc. For police departments they are beginning to require bachelor's degrees. Since you don't have anything on your resume, you will have to start at the very bottom and work your way up. It won't be easy and nor will the pay, but in a few years it will begin to look better.

You can also help yourself out to get small qualifications here and there. Something like CPR certified and food handler's card. That way you AT LEAST have something. You can go for a class 12 bartending license and start there, as the money is good. Then perhaps work your way up to asst. manager, or even owning the place.

All is not lost just because you don't have a degree. I have plenty of friends who work for Boeing and such and I never ent to college.
