  1. the relay is on the fender well. follow the pos. batt cable 2 the relay. u can jump the relay with a pair of pliers(not the coated handle type) or a remote start switch. don't use the head of the pliers, use the grip part because the span is larger.

  2. if the motor won't turn over... check the battery, clean the cable connections, make sure the battery cable is tight on the starter try jump starting from another battery, if it still won't turn , starter is probably bad

If motor turns, but won't start, start at plugs and work your way back...be especially careful with point gap, and good connection at condenser...

Go to the library and look at a Chiltons or Motors Manual fror 1960s

Photocopy the tuneup page for your car...

  3. Sounds like the starter solenoids are bad....that is the part of the starter or circuit which kicks out the starter drive to engage the flywheel. Replace the solenoid and/or possibly the whole starter. I think in those years they had a separate solenoid from the starter motor itself. Check that all the cables and connections are in good shape too.

This site has wiring diagrams for 63 Plymouth models...same basic layout...

  4. try new voltage regulater

  5. If the noise is truly a buzzing sound and not a rapid clicking, you have a bad starter relay. Look for a metal box on the firewall or left  inner fender well, approximately two and a half inches tall  by one and a half inches wide by one inch deep.

If the sound is a rapid clicking, you have a bad starter solenoid and it is built in to that starter, replace starter.

Need to know engine type, six or V-8, before distributor wiring can be explained. A "270 Dart" is a model not an engine size.
