  1. Kenpo, Kung Fu, Taekwondo, Boxing, all excellent martial arts and all fine disciplines. I have nothing but respect for any martial artist (one notable exception but its personal), but there is an inherent flaw in these systems.

The first two rely on Katas and coreographed mock-fights in order to learn the routines and principles. Most Taekwondo schools are the sport based version, and the traditional dojos are few and far between. Boxing does allow for innovation, but its limited as a fighting system, primarily being a combat sport rather than a fighting system. I cannot comment on Kajukenbo since ive had little experience with it outside of a street demonstration team and a TV show.

The fighting system ive delved into and wholeheartedly embraced emphasizes fighting out of unfavorable situations, bad position and such. Im a Krav Maga student.

Krav Maga takes base instinctual movements and capitalizes on it, using your instincts to your advantage. Ive been put in any number of simulated bad situations in class and have learned how to deal with it.

Another discipline you could look into is the Keysi Fighting Method, made famous by the new Batman franchise. Again it stresses instinct and actual fighting scenarios rather than choreographed movement and sport fighting, but its a bit more technique oriented.

  2. Either  Kenpo/Kempo  or Kajukenbo would be pretty good for learning to take on multiple opponents.

  3. Well if its a 1on1 bjj is really good. I hope the submission thing you said was a joke cause in real life you just snap every part of there body or knock them unconsious with a submission. If there is a gang and u can get out, run. If not, learn krav maga

  4. When I was taking Taekwondo, the instructor said to try to move in such a way to keep one person in front of the other. We practiced this and it worked to an extent (assuming 2 assailants). I don't understand if you are in a Gang Fight like in a gang or a victim of the bums rush. If you are in a gang get out. If you are a victim of the bums rush try to run. If you have no choice. I think ANY art with hard strikes will give you a better chance to find an opening to get away. Well, as good as any art can in that situation.

  5. You said: "bjj is more submissions and **** and i doubt that would work in a gang fight situation "DO YOU SUBMIT" haha"

You are either telling a joke, or you ARE a joke. I can't tell the difference.

  6. Try the hundred meter dash. Works fine against multiple opponents for me : P

  7. if you wanna take on alot of people in a fight thats gunna take like 1 to 2 years of practicin but yea kung fu would be the best for that, 1 on 1 fighting ur bjj would be pretty good or switch to boxing which is easy to learn and u get a harsh work-out which will make u pretty big quick, im in wing chun kung fu right now u learn how to use weapons and everything, about 3 months in it and u'll be able to take someone out in 10 seconds haha but theres alot of good martial arts, so i'd just go with kung fu for a big group of people

  8. kenpo

  9. Ok, so bjj is pretty full on hey? I learn Taekwondo and it's pretty practical.

Taekwondo is first and fore-most self-defence. It has taught me a lot of confidence and respect, as well as how to defend myself of course! haha! But is a great martial art to learn. It's not full-on, but it's very effective.

    Hope this helps! :D
