Hey i live on long island and 2morrow im goin fishing for fluke, if any knows anything can u please help me?

Its my first time goin wit my family b.c no one in my family really likes to fish so they're really only doin it for me. im goin around where point lookout is but not exactly on point lookout but the bait i am using is spearing with strips of squid on it. My grandpa used to die the squid yellow so i tried to do that because it makes it more bright he said and easier for the fish to see. can anyone please tell me if this stuff that i said is correct. if its not can u help me and give me some pointers.

spearing and squid shouldcatch fluke and spearing will catch any bluesout there. and if ur going off a boat no bobber but if ur going say off a dock ina bay use a bobber.also with a fluke rig.
