Hey i need help on my splits?

well i have dance coming up and i'm gettin pretty low on my splits but not low enough. does anyone have anything i can do to work on them?

  1. Try over splitting.

    Prop up a couple of books or using a small wall or bench is good. Put your front foot on it and slide into the splits. By over splitting it should help. Just make sure the wall/books/bench isnt too high or you could hurt yourself.

    Another thing is to get someone to stretch your legs everyday.

    Try standing against a wall with your heels right against it. stay flat on your foot and get someone to get the leg you split on and push it up slowly a bit at a time. You can also do this while kneeling. Kneel down between someones legs and put your arms round the back of their legs. They can then get your leg and pull it up towards them.

  2. Go as far down as you can. then call the nearest person near you and make them... PUSH YOU DOWN HARD!!!!!

  3. Do them as soon as you get out of the shower because your muscles are warm.

  4. You should work on your wall splits. If your wall splits can go all the way down, you should be able to do right and left splits.  

  5. practice practice! I'm in the same position although I'm not nearly as low as you, probably. it's killing me. but you should probably just try and practice... what I'm doing is I'm reading a book and I hold one leg for 5 pages, then the other, and back and forth.. don't really know if it's working but I've only been doing it for two days so it's to early for results. other suggestions is to hold it for 1-2 minutes on each leg daily.

    just checked, I actually am getting some results!!!!!!

  6. stretch your crotch area really good and do butterfly stretches and sit in your splits for a min or two and then rest do this every day and you should start to get lower and make sure you stretch your whole lower body thats about all you can do to get lower is to keep doing them but each time try to push down a little but dont over do it k hope that helps good luck


  7. if you hold your split for 1 minute everyday for a week, your split will be 1 inch closer to the ground. 2 min/day=2 in/wk, etc.  good luck.  it worked for me and my sisters and for my oldest sisters dance classes.  

  8. Okay, when you're at home watching tv or just reading sitt in a split position for about 5 to 10 minutes everyday.

    Then by time you're dance comes up you'll be able to go all the way down on you're splits.
