  1. Go to the main messenger menu window and then:

    Click "Messenger" > Click "My Display Image" > Click "Share My Avatar" > Click "Customize"

    This will bring up a new window (the avatar page) and from there you can customize your avatar but just remember to click "save" once you're done creating it.

    Your avatar will then appear automatically on the messenger as long as the "Share My Avatar" button is clicked in the "My Display Image" section.
