Hey i was wondering if anyone knew what the fee was for direct buy is?

DirectBuy is run as a franchise operation, and each franchisee sets their own charges, but it's generally about $5000.

This gets you membership for a limited period of time, which might be from 1 to 3 years.  After that initial period, there's an annual renewal fee that's much less, typically under $200.  This accounts for DirectBuy's high membership renewal rate... after people have paid that high initial fee, they're likely to renew "just in case" it might actually turn out to be worthwhile.

Part of the sales presentation (more or less mandated by the parent DirectBuy organization) is a claim that, if you do not agree to become a member during your so-called Open House visit, you will not be allowed to become a member for the next 7 years.

Because of this, it's important NOT to attend the Open House unless your are SURE you want to sign up for membership.  if there's any doubt in your mind about signing up, you SHOULD NOT ATTEND the DirectBuy Open House sales presentation.

I have read a lot about Direct Buy, and find that they run your credit during the presentation, and then give you a quote based on what they think you can afford to pay.

Some people say they were quoted $1000 plus monthly dues, some were quoted upwards of $6000 plus monthly dues.
