  1. I would pay a kid 10 bucks a week if the kid worked 10 mins a day 5 days a week did my dishes wahsed my counters and sink cleaned my toilet  and sprayed my shower

  2. Of course they would...now, understand, I'm not talking about a place like los angeles or new york city...but in small to medium size towns, this if VERY common.

As a teen I mowed lawns, raked yards, weeded gardens, watered yards, swept driveways and walks, shoveled snow, washed cars, delivered newspapers and washed windows and when i got to be a junior and senior in high school, I also helped roof, build rock retaining walls, dug drainage lines and septic lines, and did basic carpentry.

My older sister started babysitting at age 12 and often ran for groceries or errands for older people in the neighborhood.

You don't get rich, but you have pocket money and you develope a variety of skills that are valuable later on...not to mention, you build a 'network' of adults that can act as references and friends later on when you're old enough for a 'real' job.

  3. well, i tryed doing that too when i was 13. nobody wants some kids going threw they're clothes or touching there items. they will blow up if you do something wrong,

if i were you i would do some baby sitting. that pays more=]

and if you cant do that put up a lemon aid stand..who doesnt like those..its the summer anyways so everyones hot=]

good luck !! -hope i helped

  4. Do you have any hobbies or experience doing anything? That would help. You might want to try doing the dishes at home to practice, so you can say you have experience. Also lawn mowing can be quite difficult, although if you are strong and careful you can make some good money there. Of course you would have to pay for any damage you do, like running over flowers or breaking things, so try to do a good job. You might be able to find someone with a dog that needs to be walked or a sidewalk that needs sweeping. Try your other relatives first, then try neighbors you know, before going out to the general public. Good luck!

  5. What if you started doing chores around the house without being forced? At 13, you should be able to wash dishes, clean the kitchen,  vacuum and dust, mop floors, wash windows, clean bathrooms, even do simple loads of laundry. You could wash and vacuum your parents' cars. I bet if you started doing work around the house, without being asked, with a smile and a good attitude, your parents would be very happy to get your shoes and other things. Try it for a couple weeks and see if it works. You really have nothing to lose! Good luck!

  6. Well, kid, in the end, it's your parents' discretion if they're going to pay you for doing chores. As an adult, I suggest you revise your attitude about being FORCED to do dishes. Get a paper route. Do some tutoring. If you're especially skilled with the English language, go into business editing papers.

Would I pay a kid to do chores? Possibly, if we arranged to do it that way to begin with.

  7. It would be nice to get an allowance. maybe you can discuss this with your parents.have them suggest an older friend or relative that would pay you to do chores for them. Don't give your parents a hard time and maybe they will buy you shoes.

  8. to save up i collect my parents spare change and put it in a coinstar

i get twenty dollars every two weeks that way
