Hey im going snowboarding for the first time!!:)?

hi

im going snowboarding for the first time (so i guess i would be classed as a beginer!! lol) in italy

im just wondering what type of board should i get? ive never skateboarded or anything so im not sure. i live in ireland so there are no sport shops for boards around i intend on getting one online.

im 5ft 11 and weigh 140pounds i have a size 10 shoe U.S (8 UK) can anyone tell what size of one should i get? and also what style freeride etc

If you only plan on going once just rent a board from the resort. Or if you want a little better quality rent a board from one of the specialty shops around the resort.

It isn't worth buying a board if you only go once.

But, if you like snowboarding and start going more often then you can buy a board.

you should definitely rent until you know absolutely what you want in a board.  if you have no board shops around home, the rental pro in italy can help you with sizing.

i'm guessing 159cm to 163cm board for your height (should come up to your collar bone to your chin).  considering your weight, go with 159cm if you must buy online.
