Hey im liz im sixteen i weigh 111 i want to be a racing jockey how might i persue this?

ive been riding thoroughbreds my entire life ... Ive even riden out on the track a few times but never anything serious and i want to take my riding to the next level by becoming a full time jockey...im the right height weight and experience now all i need is a good trainer or riding school..ideas...?

  1. Research the North American Racing Academy. If you are at least 18 yrs, have a high-school degree, weigh no more than 114 pounds, and are shorter than 5'6 you can join.


  2. Well there are two jockey schools one is the North American Racing Academy taught by retired jockey Chris McCarron and the other is the Frank Garza Jockey School taught by retired jockey Frank Garza.  Another is to get a job working for a trainer and work your way up to being a jockey.  A lot of jockeys in the business start out this way working as a groom or hot walker then becoming an exercise rider then a jockey.
