  1. Lab

    Beagle

    Golden Retriever

  2. for younger kids i say that a small dog is not necessarily the best. small dogs are a lot more demanding and high maintenance then others, if you want a dog for your son i say a german Shepperd, they are friendly and protective. dont be scewed by some peoples perception of them, they are SO friendly. my sister gets a long so well with ours, and she has cerebral palsy. they are the best of friends. if you want a great dog for your son it has always been my experience to get a medium size dog or a big one, they seem so much more friendly then the small ones.

    P.S. huskies are great too

  3. i have a west highland terrier and my friend has a cavalier king charles spaniel, both great dogs. x

  4. you really really need to do your research. Yorkies aren't just for girls...german shepherds aren't just for boys.

ADD: hahaha sui your funny...she said "small"

ADD: I just saw your other questions...you don't have a son, you are the son your talking about. You didn't have to lie you could have just said http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

  5. First, make sure if your son is going to be taking care of the dog that he understands the responcibility of owning a dog and how much work is involved with them. Also, think about how much time your son will be able to spend with the  dog when he gets older.

My family got a Doberman  when I was kindergarten. We were able to spend enough time with her when our lives  weren't busy, but the older my brother & i got  & the busier the rest of my family got & the more we realized that we needed  to find more time to spend with our dog between cross country practice, after school programs, basketball games, & swimming meets. My familys life got busier but we still had our dog who needed the same amount of comintment. Try to think about how much busier your life will become in the next three years, think about how your dog will fit into your life then.

Next, picking the dog that will work well in your family. Below is a list of several dogs from biggest to smallest that are good w/kids and that are kinda small. The average hieght of the dog is in parentheses. Hope you find my answer useful & good luck finding your son a dog!

    -Hamiltonstovare (19 1/2- 23 1/2 in.)

    -Pinscher (17-19 in.)

-Fox Terrier (Wire) (15 1/2 in.)

    -Lancashire Heeler (12 in.)

    -Welsh Corgis (10-12in.)

  6. Try adopting a St. Bernard for your son at your local animal shelter! Good Luck

  7. You are 14 as I saw from 1 of your previous questions...so you have a son?? Ah no. You are probably not ready for a dog just yet.

  8. how about a beagle? bulldog? brittney? basset hound? jack russel terrier

    a westie....
