Hey i am going into my senior year and im just curious what my chances are at cal.....

3.5is gpa (UW)

32 act (will get higher next time)

sat2-750US, 740BIO

cohosted fundraiser that sent african orphans through school

varsity xc and track-3 years

classical and jazz piano

art in spare time-will send in portfolio

VP of young republicans club

did cancer research over summer at local college

ps-my grades slipped up junior year because of some serious emotional problems....will colleges take this into consideration?

seems like u have a nice 'track-record' on your educational resume, keep it up.

I know a friend's wife, she applied and got into haas school of business [pretty competitive to get in, even more difficult to get out]. The amazing thing is, she is a mother of one and didnt have any extracurricular activities or club memberships to brag about; however, she had a solid GPA of 4.0 and wrote a pretty compelling, but truthful entrance essay. HOWEVER, she didnt have SAT's and went to school in Texas for her BS, so it goes to show one person can, with hard work goto a deserving and prestigious  institution.

It doesnt take much to get into cal, trust me; therefore, be honest, but yet display your talent, ambition, and show cal that you are worth the investment. You'll do fine!
