  1. It makes it harder and harder for anybody else to try and come in and have a shot," Nemechek said

he's right.  I wish they would leave it alone.  All these rules and changed rules just makes it harder on those who may win a pole and not be set to be in the shootout.

It's going to get so NASCAR just won't be as fun  or exciting anymore.   They call it the fastest growing sport etc.....and make this changes to accomodate that which I think is c**p.  If the sport is the fastest growing sport why change the rules and conditions???

  2. I think that NASCAR is going to do what they feel is best going to promote the sport. With how bis SPEED weeks are at Daytona making the race longer only enhances the marketability. More bang for your buck so to speak.

  3. I'm not a fan of the new format. I know it's very unlikely but what if somehow Chevy or Ford or one of the other two manufacturors go on a tear and have 7 cars finish in the top 10? You're going to have a top 10 driver that, there's a good chance, won a race not make that "all-star" race, but then you have a driver that finishes 35th in owners points make it. It's not a very good system. Ryan Newman and Tony Sterwart will not be in the race next year, but Michael Waltrip and Ruittaman could both be in it. That doesn't make sense to me. I think they just were in a hurry to change the format and they didn't think it through.
