  1. Wow - that's a broad topic area.

BTW in science "theory" means something that is generally accepted; "hypothesis" means something that is still in the testing phase - so be careful about calling anything a theory or what that word means in the context of science.

ANyway - why not do something on natural disasters. How about Yellowstone and a disaster waiting to happen (supervolcano). Or Krakatoa, Pinatubo and other volcanos that impacted the earths climate...

  2. If you could down load my power point presentation you can give demonstration on early warning systems for earthquakes and Tsunami.

  3. The sick Mother Sick awaiting your attention!

  4. A discussion of the current state of information on the lunar rocks, especially the Genesis rock would be interesting.  Going through NASA on line would give plenty of information, a lot if it surprising (just last week they announced they found water in specimens in storage from 30 years ago).  Since moon rock is now generally believed to from the earth the topic is acceptable.  You can also download fantastic photos, gross and microscopic to help encourage discussion.

You could also tie in meteorites from the moon, mostly collected from Antarctica.

It is not a likely subject for other people to pick so you may get a good shot for something original.  That always counts for lot if you are going to be graded.

  5. Earthquakes?  Global Warming?

  6. A working model of a volcano, tectonic plates, types of rocks, natural disasters like floods

u could show how dams help curb these by setting up a fake village and then make a wall with clay/cement/rocks etc and show how dams evolved and conclude by comparing the different types and giving your opinion about which u think is the best

  7. What about the idea that Global Warming is a "theory"...  Meaning that it hasn't been proved.  Many scientists debate it and there is research both for and against it.  You can actually find a zillion references to use in Michael Chricton's "The State of Fear".

You can take either side and a bunch of sub topics that are involved - pollultion, the atmosphere, animal extinction, "going green" with hybrid cars and alternative fuels...

You can make it as long or as short as you need.

  8. what causes/caused  these?....
