this was the procedure:1.weigh 2 grams of the unknown mixture in a clean dry beaker of suitable size.2.Dissolve the mixture in the beaker by adding about 20 ml water.Stir throughly but gently to avoid spilling.3.decant the solution in the beaker and receive the decantate in a second beaker.4.Wash the inside of the first beaker twice with10ml.of water and decant each of the washing into the second beaker.5.add one spatulafull of powdered charcoal to the decantate6.weigh a clean dry evaporating dish.7.filter the cooled solution and receive the filtrate in the weighed eveporating dish.8.Evaporate the filtrate to dryness, using small flame to avoid spattring.9.weigh the cooled evaporating dish.10calculate the % water-soluble substance in the mixture by ff the formula:% water-soluble substance=mass of residue /mass mixture times 100.now, here's the questions:how will i get :-mass of the mixture-mass of water soluble residue-% water soluble residue in the mixture.
