Hey photographers, what's the better camera?

Ok so I was looking through old stuff in the garage, and I want to sell these two cameras I found, brand new, just dusty for being there so long.

One is a Pentax Optio T20, and is 7.0 megapixels. The other is a Nixon Coolpix 7600 and is 7.1 megapixels. I don't know much about cameras, so I was wondering which is better to keep and which to sell. I'm going to do some more research, but I was wondering if you photographers out there could help me out to choosing the best camera. I just want to take some nice photos, not professional or anything like that but would like the best camera. Thanks for reading and all the help, cheers.

  1. I would choose the Nikon, as Nikon cameras are extremely high quality, and the image quality that you'll get from a Nikon will beat out the Pentax any day, and this is for two reasons.  One: Coolpix cameras get Nikkor lenses, and there are no lenses better than Nikkor lenses.  Two: Nikon uses a large CCD which will give you a higher quality picture at higher ISO values, meaning that you'll get less noise in pictures taken in low-light.

  2. Both are very old cameras ... If you are paying more than about $30 including shipping, then you may want to look at some different cameras.  Of the two, the Nikon has a much larger sensor (same pixel count) so should produce much better images (low noise)

You are really asking the wrong people ... photographers are usually found with a DSLR around their necks.  Not using P&S cameras.

  3. Thet both are good and neither can be more than 3 years old. I would stay with the Nikon it sold new for about $300.
