  1. sell all your belonging move to were you need to and rebuy what you need with the money from stuff you sold, transporting yourself bus, bike or other public transport

  2. Good for you and all your efforts - though I personally would get a license and just not buy a car.  A license is used for so many things - and the knowledge of how to use a car may be necessary some day in your future.  Don't limit your knowledge - just your impact on the earth.  :-)

You would need to live in places that have a ready access to mass transit or close to stores - unless you plan to grow your own food and make your own clothing.

Depending on many things - it might be more environmental to have the license & get a very fuel efficient vehicle than have some things delivered, or have to get a cab, etc.

The only people I know who successfully can do the no car thing are city dwellers - and it is a good thing - because the last thing a city needs is more cars and pollution. There are plenty of stores and mass transit - so a motorized vehicle is not necessary.  A move could be done with a rental vehicle.
