Hey which boat motor is better my friend has a 40h mercery boat and i have a 90h johnson skeeter bass boat?

i keep telling him that my boat is alot faster than his but he wont listen so wat u guys think

Maybe his boat is faster, what hull is it on?

90 ain't much for a 21' skeeter pad-V hull.

I agree 90 is small for a skeeter, but I've got to believe that it's still faster than the 40 Merc.  Merc has a reputation for higher speeds, but it's really all about rpm and the way outboard H.P. is determined.   Coupled with differences in lower unit gears and props.  If you put the boats side-by-side I'd think you would beat his out of the hole, and never relinquish the lead!   P>S> The last Skeeter I drove had a 200 H.P.
