an ex- astronaut the sixth man to walk on the moon Ed Mitchel went live on air and said aliens are real! Whats your take on this?

My take is that he may just have a point. What he is saying might disagree with the conventional wisdom, but it can't simply be dismissed because of who he is and what he knows.

For anybody who doesn't know, "Dr." Ed Mitchell is a serious scientist. He graduated from both Carnegie Mellon and the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, then went on to achieved a doctorate in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT. These are pretty hard core qualifications. In addition to this he is a long time NASA insider who would be privy to restricted information and who would have access to other senior scientists.

He's not some redneck claiming that he was probed by an alien.

It is real, that he talks like that, but he is pretty far away from being serious source.

He had been researching paranormal stuff such a extra-sensory perception (without success)  even during his Apollo mission, and left NASA to found his own paranormal research institute.

Remember people, he is 76 now, and had been searching for paranormal stuff his whole life long, without success. A few years ago, he claimed a wonderboy healed his cancer, though no ontological doctor was even able to confirm that he had cancer at all. He is not scientific in that context, though he can claim a scientific background - he just does not make use of it and the skills he should have.

All he can do, is argue by authority. Look at me, I am Apollo astronaut, I say the same strange stuff without physical evidence as many other luna-tics, but you must believe me, for I am Apollo astronaut.

I really don't know what to believe but I will tell you this it definitely makes you think. I am a pretty open person and don't throw stones because my glass house can't take it. All we can do is wait and see if our government reveals anything they now or someone can confirm what Ed Mitchel is saying. If they are out there I hope the don't get hostel.

I read the article.  It really makes you think, but it could just be some old man wanting to stir something up or even crazy or delusional.  But it sure makes you think.  My uncle has a UFO story that gives me chills.  He is a very honest man that would only tell it like it is.  I think if there are aliens out there they have to be more intelligent than us because they have kept themselves secret for so long.

Dudes cracked... I checked out some stuff on him. The has two books. "Psychic Exploration: A Challenge for Science" and "The Way of the Explorer" which suggests thought to is some other energy energy that doesn't affect the physical universe and has negative entropy. No scientific experiments have ever said anything like this and Psychic Exploration is sheer bologna. He was probably qualified to go to the Moon during the sixties, but now he is either making baseless claims or is just trying to sell his books. I bet its gonna work too. This is why we need to educate more Americans in the sciences during high school and earlier. There is no proof of aliens and one man no matter how much respect he gained before is gonna make his opinion "proof".
