The Bavarian giants’ team trainer is looking forward to defeat the Belarusian outfit to finish top of Group F, but will not underestimate them following their surprise loss in an away game in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Belarus-c2849
Bayern Munich head coach Jupp Heynckes stressed that his side will be cautious when they take on Belarusian champions’ BATE Borisov in their final group game of the UEFA Champions League. The German club suffered a humiliating
defeat when the two sides last met and Bayern would be hoping to get their revenge on Wednesday.
Der FCB have secured progression to the next round of the competition but are level on points with La Liga http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Club-Valencia-c38828. Therefore, the Bundesliga side need at least a victory to go through as group winners which means they will
get a weaker team in the round of 16 game.
On the other hand, BATE have no worries about their status as the outcome will not change their 3rd position finish. They will play in the UEFA Europa League after the Champions League exit.
The manager claimed that the Belarusian side is a strong team as they are good technically. They also have a competitive nature so the match will be exciting to watch. He further added that BATE were worthy winners on match-day
two and interestingly, their players covered a distance of 128 kilometres in that clash.
"BATE are a really good team - strong technically and physically competitive - so it won't be a kick about. We saw during our first meeting how good they are and, to be honest, they deserved that win. They played a really great
game. They ran 128 kilometres in that game - that is a great performance. We only ran 120,” he stated.
"Sometimes teams like BATE are underestimated. Unfortunately, we did that in Belarus. Mario Gomez is an option to start. He has been playing well again, even though his rhythm is not yet 100 per cent,” he added.
Heynckes stated that star striker Mario Gomez could be handed a start as he has done well since making the recovery. However, he admitted he is not fully fit yet.
