The Bayern Munich manager has showered praise on the goalkeeper for his outstanding performances of late.
The Bavarian giants have returned to form after a series of disappointing results since in the last two months. The team is flying high with some sensational displays in the league and in Europe.
Bayern have qualified for the final of the DFB-Pokal after defeating Borussia Monchengladbach on penalties and have one foot in the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League after downing Olympique Marseille 2-0 at the Stade Velodrome
in the first-leg.
Heynckes hailed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-Neuer-c23424 for his amazing performances this season and admitted that the player has proved his worth. The manager heaped praise on the goalkeeper for his heroic display against Borussia Monchengladbach in the
German Cup where he saved a penalty to lead his side to the final.
The former Bayer Leverkusen boss insisted that it is never easy for a player to come to a club such as Bayern Munich and prove himself so early.
“He salvaged the win for us in Gladbach, and he’s a model of calm authority at the moment. This is the Neuer we always wanted. It's not easy at the start when you come to Bayern as a goalkeeper or player. Every player who comes
in from outside notices that,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the tactician stressed that his side has a tough schedule ahead until the end of the season. He maintained that the team has to maintain the momentum in the Bundesliga, the German Cup final and the UEFA Champions
League. He insisted that the players will have to continue playing the way they have been in the last few months.
“We shouldn't put ourselves under pressure. Obviously, we still have seven Bundesliga fixtures, the cup final, the game against Marseille, and potentially two Champions League semi-finals before the end of the season. It's an incredibly
tough schedule,” he concluded.
Bayern Munich are in the race for a treble this season. The team is in the final of the German Cup, have most likely qualified for the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League and are five points Borussia Dortmund in the league
with seven games to go.
