The Bayern Munich manager is eager to face his former club and has showered praise on the opposition’s brilliant season thus far.

The former Bayer Leverkusen boss admitted that the fixture has always been a highly intense one in the past and expects nothing less this time around.
“We're delighted it starts again on Friday, against a team which has had a magnificent last 12 months. They managed to avoid relegation, and they’re now four points behind us in the table. On top of that, it's traditionally a fixture full of action and incident. Heynckes insisted that he still loves his former club and has great friends there but admits that he will have to put the emotions aside for the upcoming clash. The tactician is confident that Bayern can secure all three points at the end of the day and maintain their lead at the top of the table.
“I grew up in Gladbach as a player, I took my first steps as a coach there, I have a very good relationship with the current board of directors,” he concluded.
Jupp Heynckes spent most of his career with Borussia Monchengladbach, scoring over 200 goals for the side. He also started his career as manager with the Foals and spent his first eight years as the manager, after retiring from his playing career.
