Riggght sorted the train journey. However when im on the tube to Kings Cross the arrival time is the exact same time the other train leaves for Ely...would i be able to get it in time? If not i need a different not too expensive way of getting there. The train i need to catch is Ely to Bury St Edmunds at 8:30.

Please no other options about staying over blah blah. Just need to know if i can get a bus, what times and such.

Taxi would be waaay too much. Thank you x

  1. I guess you're looking at Trainline times.

The tube leg does not show specific train times. As slow as it is, a tube train does not take 45 minutes to get from Paddington to Kings Cross. In fact, the Transport for London timings for the Circle and Hammersmith & City lines show that this trip takes 10 minutes. Therefore you will have heaps of time to make your transfer, so stop worrying.

Don't bother trying to look for bus replacements as they aren't practical. If you have missed the 0715 departure from Kings Cross there just isn't any other form of transport that will get you to Ely for the 0830 to Bury St Edmunds.

Incidentally, in the highly unlikely event that you do miss your connection at Kings Cross, don't just jump on the next train to Ely. Go and ask someone on the information desk to check the quickest way for you to get to Bury St Edmunds. There are connections from Cambridge as well as Ely, and you need to know which station you need to change at.
