Hezmah anxious to make strong comeback after long break
For many horseracing fans, this is still a question mark why John Gosden opted to take his talented bay filly, Hezmah, out of action after she emphatically won a big race on June 13 as she was enjoying great momentum at that moment. Some believe that this
was done with a view to build up on the stamina the young runner had gained with a few decent performances.
Whatever the reason was, we can expect a winning performance from the four-year-old veteran filly when she returns to playfield today. After a long gap of more than three months, the brilliant racer is going to participate in the British Stallion Studs Supporting
British Racing EBF Fillies´ Handicap that will be held at Newmarket.
The 6-furlong racecourse offers a good surface to Hezmah to unleash her traditional performance while competing against nine strong rivals. On winning, she will bring home £9,960.
Due to the fantastic filly’s long absence from action, most of the punters are reluctant to stake their money on him. But those, who know her inherent talent, are at the forefront to predict her success.
Hezmah’s track record is pretty impressive. The daughter of Oasis Dream out of Bright Moll started her career with a grand victory in April 2011. Her excellence is evident from the fact that she had been the hot favourite candidate for each of her first
two races.
The maverick sprinter finished third in the 15-runner event of Robert Palmer Memorial Handicap that took place at Newmarket on July 30th of the last year.
In the very next month, the Hamdan Al Maktoum owned filly grabbed the runner-up rank in the Irish Stallion Farms E B F Fillies' Stakes (Handicap) that went down at Goodwood.
She extended her form to 2012 as well and stood second in the Sendrig Fillies' Handicap on May 31. She earned great applause and high odds by winning the BetVictor For Euro 2012 Handicap on June 13.
In the light of these stats, we have every reason to hope that Hezmah will be able to bring home the ace title today. Good luck to her.
