I walked up the side of what seemed to be a mountain, then the next thing I know I'm at the top and it's all dark. There was a sort of Victorian English town, with some snow on the rooftops lit up as it would have been at Christmas. I remember people saying "the place where it is always night" and "where the sun is the moon."

I remember thinking "this is beautiful" as I walked down the street through the town, though I began to notice the shadows on the nearby buildings were bizarre, casting darkness which caused the buildings to have a gothic and even a bit of demonic look, which unsettled me greatly. I then looked up to the sky and saw that it wasn't night time and the sun wasn't the moon; it had a completely dark and overcast sky (like a nuclear winter) with the sun dimly appearing through like a sort of orange moon. I then thought that this place was ugly and even horrific.

It then zapped to me being in a tourist place in the town, where crowds of people were waiting to leave

  1. OK, a little confusing but I might have an idea. Without knowing you, this is just a guess. The first town at the mountain top symbolizes accomplishing something. You got there fast and it seemed great at first but... you start noticing things aren't as they appear. Maybe relating to a new position in society or a geographic location.

Second place symbolizes a situation in which you are going against the grain or against what is "Normal". You notice someone using you to do what is "normal" yet they are criticized for doing so. It could be that someone needs your help or will be looking for guidance and will be criticized for doing so.

The third is more complicated. I believe that it may be more literal. It is obvious that your family is a symbol of comfort. It could be that your family may be torn by your aunt's death or maybe some of you can't accept it. Maybe your aunt was a sense of guidance for you? Maybe she was the one who held the family together and the other half of your family doesn't notice this.

Again, just a beginner's guess but I am confident in the first and pretty much in the second. Just remember that there is a reason that you remember or had this dream.

  2. You had two dreams.

The first is regarding a transition period in your life.   Your life changed and at first the change was anticipated to be a brilliant change for you.  However, the further along you went down the path, the more you realized the idea was not to your well being.  In fact, you probably faced some suprises that scared you a bit and put you out of your comfort zone.

You are at the point now where you are thinking or planning to be well on your way to another change, and you are applying more caution than the first time.  Watching to see what others in similar situation are doing and if they are successful.  That is reasonable considering the prior experience.

The second dream has to do with your ability to relate to certain family members better than others.  The ones who could see your dead aunt, you openly identify with better than the others.    It is possible you do not agree with the ones who could not see her regarding past shared experiences.  You see things one way, they the other.

  3. That is the most awesome dream ever!

    *cough* Anyways..

My family and I have this place in are dreams that we go to talk to people that are dead, that we use to know. You could have a dream like that before and not remember. I rarely remember mine.  Each of us have a different place we vist, my mother has goes to a french cafe, I go to a grim forest!
