  1. The best thing to do is learn as much as you can about the company you are applying for a position in.

You need to be confidant when you meet the person you are interviewing. You also want to shake their hand while you are introducing yourself.

"Hi Mr. Jones, my name is Peter Pan, thank you for taking the time to interview me for (whatever position you are applying for)."

When you leave you also want to thank him/her again and then the next day or 2 days you want to call back and ask for the person who interviewed you, express that you are still interested in the job and thank them again for the time they spent with you.

Of course appearance is very important, you want to wear a suit or dress.

  2. The very first impression that the interviewer has of you is based mainly on non-verbal clues - your appearance and the way you greet the interviewer. Make sure you stand up, look directly at the interviewer and give a firm handshake, saying something along the lines of, "I am pleased to meet you, Mr Jones."

It is always advisable to use the interviewer's name, this is the start of building good rapport. Wait for the interviewer to give you the signal to sit down, either a hand gesture or when he or she sits down themselves. For more interview tips you can go to the free website below. Good Luck
