  1. Yeah

I am 5ft 10 and still growing. Longer sizes aren't for taller people, I think they are for people wanting more power, and REALLY tall people.

  2. Tall people have longer arms, so their hands are normally the same distance from the ground as shorter people, so standard length clubs should be ok for you.  I am 6'1" and use standard shafts.

  3. it's like clothes - you have to 'try them on' in the shop - get a pro to show you what suits at the driving range

  4. My brother is as tall as you and he uses standard length clubs.  You can go to your local pro shop and get measured to see whether or not you need regular length clubs or longer clubs.

  5. Yeah it would be better to have longer clubs but if you can't get your hands on any short clubs work just as well. Any golfer will tell you its pretty easy to adjust to any length of club.

  6. Firstly I would seek advice from your nearest Golf professional. Most golf clubs have a golf professional who will advise you of the golf clubs and centres that do custom fittings.

  7. Height alone has very little to do with proper golf club length.  Only fitting by a qualified professional will tell if you need custom length clubs or not.  I am a little over 6' and have used standard length all my life.  What is most important is if your arms are in proportion to you body.  You could be 7 feet tall, and if your arms were long you might need shorter clubs.  You could be 5 feet tall and if your arms are short you might need longer clubs.  Since you are just beginning go with standard length as you progress you may find custom fitting to your advantage.

  8. Ask the club professional, he/she should be happy to advise you.

  9. I am 6ft 6in and my clubs have been fitted for me by a professional and they are 3in longer than standard with no change in lie angle.  However this is not because I'm 6-6 it's because I'm 6-6 with shorter arms.  97% of people no matter how tall they are when they stand next to each other shoulder to shoulder the tips of there fingers line up even.

You need to go get fitted for clubs because more than likely you will find yourself in that 97% category and not need the longer clubs.  Believe me when I say be grateful about that because everything for me has to be costom fit I can't just buy something on ebay.

  10. regular size, definitely. 6 foot is  just above the average height for a bloke, I think. The longer ones, are for 6-6 and above, I would say. Good luck mate.
