  1. srry i'm not an umbrella person :P

  2. spray it with wd40

  3. some wd-40 might help or anything that might help lube it up

  4. Try having someone push the umbrella open while you're turning it.

  5. Spray with WD-40 or a good penetrating oil. Just try working the crank both ways and soon it will be freed. Also spray the tube and any moving parts.

  6. sounds like you'll be eating indoors, or buying a new umbrella..if you are having company TONIGHT, then why do you need the umbrella?  at night there is no sun.

  7. ask a neighbour man 4 help or forget about going in the patio with your friends.. :)

  8. Spray the crank mechinism LIBERALLY with WD-40. I know that you may have to 'pry' the umbrella open a bit to reach all of it, but this is the BEST way to 'fix' a cranky umbrella.  Your only other choice is to go to the store and buy a new umbrella, and throw the old one away.

  9. Tonight the sun will be down.  You are in luck.

  10. im with minty wd 40 works on everything

  11. Okay you have a classic Almond Umbrella pulley snag.

First try cranking it in reverse to unsnag it. Then attempt to go in the correct direction again. Also try having someone "aid" the unbrella's opening action while you turn the crank. Good luck!

  12. if the umbrella opens up you could tie some wire to the handle from keeping it from turning .

  13. if you dont have wd40, try some cooking spray! that is what i always use because it is not toxic and it works great! Give it some good lube and crank away...have fun tonight....dont stress the small stuff.

  14. take the umbrella out of the table turn it upside down and spray with wd-40 trying to get inside the crank box then wait ten minutes with the umbrella still upside down work the crank in both directions to see if you can get it moving being upside down will make it easier if that does not work get a new one

  15. If you have some WD40 in the shed or garage spray that into the crank and wait like 10 minutes and try that
