Hi, I'm wondering what does a certificate of insurance looks like?my building only allows movers with this?

  1. Any professional moving company can provide one of these.  It's something they get from their insurance provider to prove that they have insurance.  You know how you have the little proof of insurance card that you keep in the car?  It's sort of like that for a business.  It's usually one page.


  2. They all look different but they are also called a Declarations Page or Proof of Insurance. Its a paper listing all the information needed to prove they have insurance. Limits of Liability is what the building is interested in.This tells them if they drop a couch on a tenents foot how much the movers will have when they get sued. lol. Just ask them for it, and if they say no then they are not responsible and you need to find someone else.

  3. Ask the movers for a Certificate of Insurance.  They will get it from their insurance agent & give it to you.  If you want to be sure it is legitimate, just call the agent listed on the certificate & say what you have & ask if they issued it.  They will be able to tell you that much anyway.  They are very limited in what they can tell you.
