Hi, I am a not United stated resident. How can I apply ITIN?

currently I stay in Malaysia, I m a Chinese resident. I never been United States before. But I had do some trading online international. but there are 30% tax withholding in United states. I have read on the irs about the ITIN. But it seem like complicated.

  1. Have a credible employment record and long stay on American soil enough to qualify you as resident of the US.


  2. You need to fill out a w-7 form. That needs to be sent to either your local IRS office or to the national one. I would take to the nearest local on because they know how to send it and they can tell you right there and then what do and don't need. If you don't have and SSN then you are probably qualified for ITIN.
