  1. Ok, it's nopt easy and thats from experience. Im aussie my hubbies american and it took thousands of dollars to get him to australia and he's married to an aussie. The number one way to get into australia from america to live would be by spouse of direct family, next is by your skills. This would get you a permanent residency, then after 3 years of livng in australia and holding hown good jobs and not doing anything criminal you can apply for citezenship.

You woud be entering through the skills section and it's pretty dificult. You need to have a skill that the australian need and that will make enough money for you to live without being a risk of becomming dependant on the govements money. Both you and you hubbie need to have a skill not just one of you. The online thing will probably not help you unless you can work for someone in australia with the skills you have. Your own business will not hold to much weight when comming to australia and you would need at least 4 years of owning this businness paper work (must include all tax for all years) other wise its compltely useless. Sorry but that's just the way it is. Australia isn't too easy to immigrate to.

    www.immi.gov.au

That site has absolutley everything you need from information to forms to prices. To immigrate my hubbie it was $2000 - $2500 just to enter the form. You also have to get police records for every country you have both lived in (we had quit a few so just this costed almost $1000), health checks (start at $300 each plus extra for anything wrong with you) ect which add heaps to the bill and add heaps of time too. The immigration office will also tell you it can take up to a year to get your paper work looked through and even longer if at that time there's alot of applicants.

They will go through your whole life and if you don't like that you may want to re-thinkk your choice. They will even ask about your marriage ect.

Also the best way is to hire an immigration lawyer too. We found out that if you answer one question wrong or fill out the form wrong it gets denied and then you have to start all over again with extra paper work and you must have a lawyer then too. So yes lawyers cost a fair bit  but we did it after i think $7000+ for our lawyer and we are so glad coz it took about 7 months only and everything went smoothly.

So no it;s not easy but we could never live in america as it's way too stressful so this was the bect choice for us and money can always be made.

Hope everything goes well for you and your hubbie and don't give up on this if you really want it coz it's worth moving to Australia. We have absolutly no regrets.

  2. I don't blame you wanting to leave the U.S. we would love to have you. plenty of Americans have come here with lower quals them you, just go through the necessary reguarular immirgration forms from the Australian embassy and see how you go,could be hard if you don't have a trade or something else that Australia could used from you. Good luck and if its ment to be it will happen

  3. it is very hard unless one of you is a skilled worker in an area Australia needs

this is the Australian immigration website.it will tell you all you need to know

    http://www.immi.gov.au/index.htm

  4. Are you under 30?  go to www.bunac.org and you can work over there for 4months up to 3 times.  For New Zealand you can do the same thing up till 35.  Than once you get over there they got a couple work programs you can do to stay.  I was going to either do a cooking one or car repair program but I missed my peeps so I left.
