Hi, I am an italian 17 years old girl. I am going to study in England and I would like to bring a little present to my host family.. Well, I am asking english people, what would you like to receive from Italy?

I went to Spain and stayed with a host family, we took some cakes which are from the place where we live, and also a 'love spoon' which is a decorative wooden spoon which comes from my country's history. We wanted to show her some of our culture as we learnt about hers.

sempre prodotti tipici.. gli inglese si piaciano la roba tipica... come salsicia, vino, formaggio, pasta, salumi, etc....

perchÃƒÂ¨ prodotti tipici sono difficile da trovare anchÃƒÂ¨ costano troppo.. difficile da comprare qualcosa per gente che non si conosce....

io sono inglese in italia...........

Something traditional and typically Italian. Keep it small and not too easily breakable (you have to carry it!!).

Whatever you buy check it over CAREFULLY - too many things you buy have a "made in China" sticker - which would be BAD!!!

I have some ideas for you. I travel to Italy often and many of my friends and family  like:

Coffee

Cheese(parmigiano)

a book about your city in Italy

something that is symbolic of your city.

perfume for the host mother

a nice wallet(portafoglio )  for the host mother

pens, cufflinks, watch ,  or ties for the host father(le penne, gemelli da camicia, un'orologio o le cravatte)

For the children if they have any, it would depend on their ages.
