Hi, I am planning a trip to italy in 2009. Is end march/early april a gd time? cheaper hotels, weather, etc?

thinking of joining cosmos travel to southern italy & extending our stay in rome. it's the 15 yr anniversay for my friend & i since we last visited italy when we were 16!! we visited rome, venice & milan :)

i'm italian, and i can tell you that is a good period but my favourite in italy is april/may. anyway, during the period you choose, is the weather good, but it dipends on where will you go, in south it will be warmer and sunny then north. anyway... sometimes the weather here is strange, if are lucky... you could find 20°C, if you are not, you could find snow, rain and 5°C...

for cheaper hotel... that's sure, it would be the last days of sales...

the weather in april isn't matter, now there are over 23 °C at 12 and there is the sun over 24-5 days a month!!! the sunset is at the 20.20 (8.20 pm) at Rome and 20.40 (8.40pm) in Milan... but for the hotels u have to try on internet... i dunno
