  1. I've lived in Switzerland for 25 years from my birth until I moved to the US, so I might be a bit jaded, and I don't know where you're from -- but bear with me!

I wouldn't say there are any "must-see" places in Zurich so much as there are nice areas to go to and areas that just aren't worth it.

Zurich is a busy city by Swiss standards and, as the country's biggest city, features many points of interest.

If you're into museums, then there are a couple of the country's most important museums, such as the Swiss National Museum and the Landesmuseum, both focused on Swiss culture and history.

There are the usual big churches you will find in most European cities of a reasonable size. The Grossmünster is my favorite in Zurich. The clock face of the St. Peter church is the largest in the world.

Zurich has a cool zoo which I recommend.

If you want to do some shopping, check out Bahnhofstrasse, which is right by the main rail station, as the name implies.

Just take a walk by the lake and/or the river.

Zurich has an impressive number of clubs, so that's something else for you to do if you're into that. I used to enjoy going to the OXA and the Rohstofflager for good techno music.

On Geneva, there's roughly the same kind of stuff to do, but less clubs. Definitely take a walk by the lake in Geneva, it's great to chill in the summer. Geneva is where I spent most of my life and it's a cool city. It's definitely a good idea to go spent a day there. Leave early on Saturday, you'll be on a direct 3-hour train ride which brings you right into central Geneva.

Also consider Bern for your daytrip. It's the capital, it's small, but beautiful, and the center is very pedestrian.

In any case, I hope you enjoy Switzerland and make good

use of your time there -- because I miss it!
