Currently, Zillow.com is accurately showing the transaction amount. How do I hide my home's actual sale price from zillow and the public?

  1. NOPE, it's a matter of public record.

What's the point anyway?  You got a deal!  Shout it out!

  2. I am formerly the Recorder of Deeds. The deed will be stamped with the amount of transfer tax paid on the sale. Thus, no matter how you try to hide the price,it still show in the transfer tax that was paid.

    This is public redord.

  3. Unless you bought the house from a friend, employer, or someone else you know, then what you paid for it is the new market value.

  4. No all information is public information and can be found at your COUNTY CLERK AND RECORDER..

  5. Why does it matter that you got a good deal?  Hopefully that will affect your assessed valuation for lower property taxes.

  6. There is no possible way, not in the US anyway.

  7. Depends upon where you live.  There are five states in which the sales price is not public record.  Texas is one, I don't remember the others right now.  If the correct info is already on Zillow or in the MLS, then it's too late to change it.

  8. The sales price listed on zillow and other public forums is impossible to hide.  Once it's out there it's out there. You may be able to go to your local courthouse, public records and...wait, no....it's PUBLIC RECORDS.  The best thing to do is rent an apartment really cheap, nobody cares what you paid for that! Congrats on the purchase and unless you are hiding assets from the good ol' USA, then you are out of luck!

  9. No you cannot hide it. One of the documetns you signed is a Deed of Trust. This document gets recorded at your local office, so anyone who goes in and pulls the public record will find it. Sites like zillow synce up with alot of tax records.
