Hi, I have a problem with my volume icon and my network icon not showing up on my taskbar any help ?

My laptop is a windows vista so any help ?

I have the same problem and ctrl and esc dont work it just makes the start menu flash

Go to taskbar, right clik, go to properties, clik, go to notification area and clik the box for volume, and network, cllik apply then ok.

Right click on the task bar and select properties, click on the notification area tab and ensure that they are both selected.

EDIT: Are you using a normal user account ? If so, you may need to use the administrator account to do it.

Start Menu > Settings > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Place Volume Icon in the  Taskbar

Right Click on Taskbar > Properties > Notification Area tab > under system icons, check Volume. This worked for me, don't know if your situation is different? Give it a try.
