  1. The network icon usually shows up when there is a problem with your connection. Unplug your network cable or the link and it will pop up. Windows sometimes hides icons that are inactive or not in use. Go to "control panel" then "sound and audio devices". Check where its written "Place volume icon on the taskbar" and it will reappear.

  2. Hi

Go to the taskbar at the bottom of your screen on mine its black dpending on what theme your have chosen. It is the bar at the bottom which has the Vista start button your little startup icons on the right side. Ok did you find the taskbar? Dont have browser open or any other windows open. Go to the middle of the bar and right click your mouse and you will see a list of opitions appear select and click on properties. At the top you should see 4 opitions click on notification area. Go down under system icon select (check) volume and network. Select apply and slect OK. Your system icons should reappear. Hope this works.

  3. right click on a blank area on your taskbar,

    properties,

then uncheck the box that says hide inactive icons,

    click ok or apply
