THey also drew blood and said my Thyroid is good, potassium levels are good along with magnesium. THey also said I am not pregnant. Any suggestions what may be the cause????

  1. Do you get dizzy spells at all? Do you get light headed, or get a "rush" of adrenaline with out much action? Ask them to check you for cardiac arrythmia. Do a tilt table test and stress test and be sure your body is not rapidly increasing it's "fight or flight" insticts without reason. That feeling you get when you're scared and you think you need to run. Or that feeling you get when you get angry and you want to hit someone or something. That increases rapidly and intensley all at once and you can potentially black out. It starts with heart palps in most patients. It's a series of tests, but heart failure is nothing to mess around with.

  2. Been drinking lately? possibly having coffee a little too often? Or is that secret crush of yours around you alot?

    Slow down on that sort of stuff if you are. Get plenty of rest and eat healthy for a few days. You may be getting too much garbage to possibly make you slightly hyper or anything like the effects of what those items above may do to you. If the doctors say the tests look fine, then generally, your heart is healthy, its just adrenaline or something making you have heart palpitations.

  3. If all your tests came back fine, there can be a number of causes. Have you increased your caffeine intake lately? Started any dietary supplements containing hoodia? (Hoodia has twice the caffeine of coffee) Been under more stress than usual? These things can cause palpitations. I notice you don't mention having your iron levels checked. Anemia can also cause them.

  4. what is your bp? are you taking anything (pills)? do you exercise? stressed lately?

  5. no but i would ask another dr.

  6. Hi, heart palpitations can be caused from anxiety, stress to much caffeine, smoking, hormone changes associated with menstruation, or even medications. Have you been going through a lot of stress lately?, are you overly anxious about anything?You have apparently took the initiative to have everything checked, so if this continues, I would re visit your doctor. I hope all goes well for you

  7. Whats your diet like? Do you smoke? have you increased the milligram of cigarettes? Are you eating alot of fatty foods? Are you getting stressed real easy? it could be a number of things darl, maybe change doctors?

  8. This happened to my son, and the cardiologist determined it

    was mild ongoing dehydration.  He had to lower his caffeine

    intake, and hydrate more.

    Luck to you!

  9. Chances are you are having what is called a PVC or a PAC

    PVC=Premature Ventricular Contraction

    PAC=Premature Atrial Contraction

    They are totally harmless, but they can be very unsettling.

    It is when 1 of the 4 chambers of the heart beats out of sequence.  While it feels like a skipped beat, it is actually an extra-beat and then a pause.

    Everybody has them, but things like lack of sleep, bad eating, and stress can cause them to increase.

    Also, once you get stressed out about them, you start to notice them more which makes it seem like you're having them more often, when in actuality, you're just listening for them and focusing on it a lot more.

    The only way to confirm that this is what it is is to wear a 24-hour holter monitor.

    If your EKG is fine, and you are under 50, I wouldn't worry about it.

  10. that would leave anxiety attack.

  11. too many espressos, red bulls etc?

  12. Anxiety or stress.  I would suggest you monitor and write down what you are doing/feeling when these palpitations happen. That way you can take it to the dr to have them look at.  They can get a clearer pic of why/what may be causing this.

  13. maybe you need to see to see an internal meds Dr and see what he/she says...

  14. i just had a heart attack.  i went to the emergency room when i was feeling exhausted with chest pain, after working me over for 5 hrs they determined i was fine and sent me on my way.  a month later it happened again and i went to the emergency room, this time i had a heart attack.  just because they released you with the tests being good, don't take it for granted all is fine.  you may also be having anxiety.  how stressed are you?  i didn't think i was stressed out till i started adding things up, i was a time bomb.  after the heart attack i was put on a walking regiment, starting 5 minutes a day, working up to 30 minutes a day, i live a physically active life, but this has helped tremendously, reduces stress too!

  15. You might be over reacting, it's more common in personal health care than you think. If you still feel a paranoia about this, maybe consult another doctor to be on the safe side, if they say its normal then you might just be fine.

  16. Caffeine? any other meds you could be taking?

  17. fatigue
