Hi all I am new to this but here goes....I have just recently starting working in London and I park my car in my local train station car park. My boyfriends sister pays for the parking (her work pays for it) so I drive in the morning collect her and use her space. This week she forgot to change the ticket and I got a fixed penalty fine (she has lost the ticket for this week) I have never got a fine before! The ticket also states that my car model is a mecedes and its not - do you think if I wrote to them and apologise for what has happened that they might let me off with it?????????? Thanks Emma xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  1. Well, if the job pays for the tickets sounds like each week, her employer might have a receipt for payment. Get that receipt and mail it in with a  not guilty plea. Explain that you forgot to change the ticket, but that you have enclosed a copy of the receipt. Send only a copy of the receipt. Then see what happens. If you get a notice in the mail that they find you guilty, then make an appointment for a court date, and see the judge with the original receipt, and point out to the judge that the make of the car is incorrect.

    Good Luck

  2. You CAN talk to the department and tell them the situation to see if they would be so kind as to drop the fine, but chances are they won't.  If the ticket was issued by police and not private security, then you may be able to appeal it in front of a judge, but again, thats not very likely and is more expensive to do...

its just a parking ticket.  Its not the end of the world.

  3. There is a blog that gives you links to information on how to contest a badly written ticket. You should definitely contest.
