Everyone says this is really good, but I don't know what possible benefits I could get out of this. My recruiter doesn't seem to know much, won't answer my questions directly either. The army IS money and I want as much as possible, obviously. All I know is I can be moved up to E2 b/c of my college credits. Can I take additional tests or apply for additional benefits/grants? No ROTC experience. Anyone has any tips or advice it would be much appreciated!

  1. You don't need college credits to join in as a E-2. I joined in as a E-3 for passing the pt test and recruiting someone. With college credits you should be coming in as a spc. And once you joined the army the only score that is important is the GT.

  2. If you are looking for money, you are choosing the wrong career path.

  3. if you scored an AFQT of 95 you generally qualify for any job for any branch. Do not let recruiters make your decision, you have more control than them. I would start asking about bonuses and what not. You can get a few thousand just based on your scores. Have the attitude that they need you more than you need them. Because it is the truth. Get with someone you trust in the military and ask them, remind them to be unbiased however.  With those scores I would go something technical or intelligence. You will work hard, but will get paid for it. What that means is you scored better than 95 percent of people who took that exam. Believe me, you have more wiggle room than you think when it comes to jobs and so forth. Do not let them overpower you. You are in charge. s***w their needs, you are doing more than 99 percent of the country by being interested. Might as well make your stay in the military worth your while and do something that matters.
