I don't really have any specifics but that is where I may be staying. What all is in the vicinity? How is the crime rate around that area (though I know that Italy is pretty low on crime statistics)? And just anything else you know. Thank you very much!

  1. www.romaturismo.it  the english version you will find 2 tours of rome and some informatios ...

    Ciao!!!

  2. My relatives live there, about half way out (colli Albani Metro stop). It is true that, being Via Appia nuova so long, it really depends where you are... Where my relatives live is quite nice: a residential area with lots of shops, a theatre, lots of reataurants, close to a big park. The buildings are all quite high (7-8 storeys on average), and quite well kept. Crime is not a big problem (although they got broken into their apartment twice, but that's common in many residential areas in Rome). I never had any problem with pick pokets or such whenever I went to visit them. Sometimes cars get stolen during the night, but, once again, that's about everywhere as well...

PS: to be that close to the Spanish steps, it must be in the beginning part of the via, really close to the city center.

  3. Via appia nuova start from the center of rome and continue until the remote suburbs of the city!

Without knowing the street number is impossible to tell where you are ending!

Generally speaking the mayor streets are served by the "tube" service, otherwise there is a chaotic public trasportation servie.

A lot of the resident people resort to bikes or scooters to move in the city. Forget the car, it's an horrible mess.

i've linked you the starting point of via appia nuova.
