  1. Nope, I'm afraid not - you are essentially on your toes when you cycle, which is tensing your calf muscle.  I have had the same issue and I run and cycle.

    Swimming is your best bet until it heals.  Good luck.


  2. They are all right, only rest will allow your calf to heal. Alternate ice and heal (30 mins. each) and take Ibuprofen (an anti-inflammatory).

  3. If you really hurt your calf muscle, then rest is the only thing it needs. Jumping back into exercise might make it worse. I recommend wrapping it with a compression bandage as well, until you feel ready to resume light exercise.

  4. Bike riding will definitely keep you in shape if you can't run. As far as helping the injury, I don't know, it all depends on the injury. Ice after 48 hours of the injury, then apply heat anytime afterwards. Usually the best healer is time.
