I'd like to be a public 4th Grade teacher. I'm fourteen and I'm almost in 8th Grade, I'm great at spelling but I'm not that into it, I love to read. The only thing I like in science is about the future. I'm terrible at algebra. In social studies, I only like learning about the Mayans, Azetc, and the Inca. I don't mind language arts, and I'd love to learn how to speak French for free.

  1. It sounds like you are really motivated...good for you!!!! As you go through high school, you will  see what interests you and what doesn't, and you'll figure out what you want to work in as your career...give yourself time...you are young!

  2. I don't know if you have every heard of family and consumer sciences (it was once called home economics), but we teach students about nutrition, money management, apparel and fashion design, interior design, sewing, cooking, decision making, goal setting, and more. It is a great field and it is a lot of fun to teach. You can take these classes in middle and high school. I just graduated with a degree in it and I have a job lined up for the fall. I love it and am quite passionate about it.

    Best of luck!

  3. You are still young enough to learn what you need.  If  you are going to teach elementary, you need to be good in all subjects.  Don't worry, they don't teach algebra in 4th grade.  Try to volunteer in a local elementary school if you can.  When you get to college, you can major in elementary education. If you discover a subject you like better, you can specialize in that and then teach middle or high school.  It is good you have an idea of what you want to do.  Speak to your high school guidance counselor and they can help you pick your HS electives to get you started on the right path.  Good luck in school.

  4. Well, you could become a Physics teacher,

    or a French teacher.

  5. As soon as you can, become a substitute teacher - that will give you an idea of what you like and what you dislike.  You may change your mind and decide to teach secondary ed.  =)

  6. Well French is hard, even though I have an A lol, but I would go as an english teacher, because you're good at it, and the main point of being a teacher is to help others learn, right!?
