I was watching this show about a mother bear and her cubs, and it was near hibernation season. The cubs were still very young though. So, do they hibernate with their mom? if not, where do they go?

  1. they dont

  2. they stay with mom and do what she does.

  3. Yes, they do hibernate with their mother, because no matter the age of the bear, they will hibernate.

  4. they should be half hibernating and warm in thier mom's fur

  5. ya they do

  6. Bears don't really hibernate. Hibernating animals drop their metabolic rates wa-a-a-a-ay down. Bears drop theirs about as much as they do when they are asleep. If they really hibernated, the females could not give birth during the winter.

  7. Yes they do hibernate..in fact because they r young they need hibernation more than their parents

  8. Depends on the area

Some places its too warm for bears to hibernate and they generally just SLOW down and not go into a total hibernation

many cubs however are born in jan/feb the cubs NEED to feed on their moms, so in a sense the cubs i dont think would be able to hibernate fully but their mother could be knocked out for a while

  9. No they don't. Their Dad takes them To Florida for the winter.

  10. Off course they hibernate together with the mom. Most of animal's cub's dying without their mom.
