  1. CARRY-ON BAGGAGE

Unchecked baggage is permitted in the aircraft cabin only if it is safely stowed under your seat or in the closed overhead bin. Every passenger is allowed one carry-on bag weighing 7 kg/15 lb. or less and no more than 23 cm x 36 cm x 56 cm in dimension or 115 cm/45 in. overall.

    Piece System:

For travel to and from the US and Canada and certain countries in South and Central America, the baggage allowance is per piece:

Super First Class: Maximum of two pieces of baggage. The sum of the three dimensions of each piece may not exceed 158 cm (62 in.) and the weight of each piece may not exceed 32kg (70 lb.)

  2. Its depend on airplan agent

  3. The last time I went back to Vietnam, I was allowed to have 1 carry on luggage @ 11lbs. & 2 checked-in baggages @ 45 lbs. each.

Contact the airline with whom you're travelling for more info.

  4. Check  carefully with  the airline , especially Vietnam Air, before leaving on your trip.  Twice I flew business class to Bangkok , overnight ed and went to the airport to check in for Hanoi. Both times the clerk wanted to charge me a couple of $100 overweight and both times I was saved by a supervisor.

I think on the long haul flights on the jumbo 747s the airlines are very liberal on their interpretation of overweight but on the shorter haul they are very very strict.

I had the same weight baggage on both airlines .  One didn't pay any attention to the weight ; one wanted to charge down  to the last ounce.

  5. it depends!!

the one that i went allow 32kg !!!

  6. when i was there, i passed the border on a bus, and i had 2 big bags, and they said nothing....

  7. How much baggage you can take will depend on the airline and the seating class.

I took EVA Air coach  the last time I traveled to Vietnam. I was allowed 70 Kilos total check in baggage, and almost had to pay an additional $105 dollars for being 3 kilos overweight coming back. Business and first class seating allows for more baggage.

If you're planning to take a lot of thigns back, you should consider shipping it instead of taking it in the plane with you. Customs and security can be a ****** with a lot of baggage.

    Good luck on your trip!

  8. 47 pounds

  9. Xin chào (Vietnamese means "Hi"), great to receive your question.

    UNLIMIT :D

But if you choose Vietnam Airlines for instance, 20 kg.

Btw, the flight ticket from Hanoi to HCMC is about 100 USD, cheap enough :D

  10. It is no limit on baggage a person can bring when traveling to Vietnam as long as you are not bringing in ban items such as weapons, drugs, etc...
