I would ask the librarian, who probably knows which books people your age like best and could explain a lot about them. Then you could get the kind you like. For instance, there are some that have this wise-alec humor repeated over and over again that I can't stand them, but other people think they're great. There are mysteries, animal stories, fairy-tales, biographies of exciting people...all kinds of stuff.

You are doing a great thing for yourself and for your future if you keep reading as much as possible. To mention only one thing: reading about other people's experiences, even in novels, which are made-up stories, can give you a kind of experience you couldn't get for yourself, and it makes you smarter when you meet with similar situations.
