i wanted to get one of those things but the guy at pet land said they were really mean so you can only get that one kind in your tank

  2. go to a pet shop! Duh!

  3. Well dont put rocks in the takns. Use sand as the substrate.

The water you put them in has to be fully cycled before you put them in.

They can live in small tanks, a good thing since they become very territorial with age. I am mostly sure the females arent like that though. I do not know how to tell the gender. Try googling it.

  4. Dwarf puffers are great little fish.  What they lack in size they more than make up for in attitude!!  Plan on 5 gallons of water per fish.  Please don't be tempted to cram 3 in a 5 gallon tank.  Although small and to the eye it appears there would plenty of room, these little guys need their own personal space!!  Also, you won't be able to keep other fish with the dwarf puffers.  You'll need to provide live food frequently but can feed a diet of tropical carnivore food.  Dwarf puffers also eat mysis and brine shrimp greedily.

I would recommend a 20 gallon long tank and absolutely no more than 5 dwarves.  In a 10 gallon, you could squeek by with 3.

I don't recommend 5 gallon tanks for dwarf puffers, but if its all you can offer, then only keep one.

You'll also need a heater and filter.  Dwarf puffers need 78F - 82F water.

Heres a decent site, too:  http://www.dwarfpuffers.com/
